This 8.5"x11" book is spiral bound, paper-covered, has double-sided printing and is approximately 72 pages. This cemetery was one of the earliest in Brattleboro, Vt., having its beginnings on the land of Benjamin Butterfield. It has the stone of Col. John Sargent, a well-known Revolutionary War soldier and many of his family members. Some other early families included are Hadley, Wilder, Bemis, French, Frost. The first recorded burial in Locust Ridge is of Susannah (Spaulding) Butterfield, in 1776. The cemetery includes a newer section that is still being used for burials as well as a Soldier's Section. History, deed information, and maps are included as well as an every-name index of 1600+ people. Over 400 surnames are listed.
